The Brawl was kinda Small

Last night I attended the “Brawl For It All” and I must say it was the most entertaining show I saw this past week, and that’s saying a lot. I saw 7L & Esoteric perform on Saturday and KRS-One (with Sage Francis and Crew) on Sunday. This event … This BRAWL FOR IT ALL” was by far the most entertaining event I have attended in a while, but what I found entertaining is not necessarily what the promoter had intended.
No disrespect but … this shit was straight comedy. From the first time I saw the flyer. To the 3 hours I spent outside the venue after the event, bullshitting and reliving the live action abortion I had just witnessed. I had a smile plastered to my face. Maybe it was the two dollar beers. Maybe it was the poetic justice of the universe. All I know is I got my $5 worth.
So lets get going. It all started with an Internet flyer posted on this site. The flyer was a clear slap in the face to Marshall Law and to me indirectly (or maybe directly). The flyer was calling Raise the RI Battle Champion. We all know the Marshall Law beat him at The Battle Royal at the Living Room. The promotional campaign ued to promote the battle went on to claim that the battle at the Living Room was not official and the judges were biased or it was fixed. Like somehow Raise… or anyone in the battle … didn’t get a fair one. As tho this battle, this Brawl For It All would set the record straight and be the battle to model all future battles after. As tho this young upstart in the game of promotions would come and re-invent the game and thumb his nose at all those who have come before him …
He actually tried to post this comment on my myspace page:
AUDIO LIQUOR PRESENTS “THE BRAWL FOR IT ALL” WHO IS REALLY THE BEST EMCEE ALIVE???
The war of words has been flying for awhile now
The MC’s have been going back and forth about who can beat who and who won at ‘The Living Room’ battle a month ago
Words have been exchanged and doubts cast
There was NO clear winner
Come on. Really? So CasUno, Storm Davis, Al Bums and the audience were all in on a big conspiracy. I love to create hype to promote a show and all, but that’s homo.
So the marketing was horrible, there was like 25 people in the building. Lets get to the actual battle. It was just as horrible as the promotions.
First off, there was no DJ and no turntables. Everything was done from a CD Player at the sound booth. How can you have a hip hop event with no DJ and no turntables? I almost threw up I was so disgusted. The flyer promised 12 emcees. Guess how many emcees were actually in the battle. Go ahead guess. While you think about your answer I will continue with my diatribe.
Sneaky Pete was on stage when Marshall Law showed up. The event screeched to a halt. When everyone was sure that fisticuffs were not about to ensue the event continued. Marshal was there with his crew and his boy Marcellino entered the battle.
In the First battle it was Marcellino vs Danny Defstar. Each battle was supposed to be three rounds each. First round was freestyle, second round was for writtens. third round was acapella. It was a funny battle but the judges stopped it after the second round due to a 2 round knock out. Marcellino beat Danny the first two rounds so the judges felt there was no point to go to a third round. That was a bad move in my opinion, and you will see how the judges broke this rule later on for their friends.
Then Marcellino had to battle J5. I was like why does this dude have to battle again? He just battled. WTF is going on here? Then I realized. This was The answer. There was only THREE emcees register to battle. This was the final round. Funny shit. It’s a good thing Marshall showed up with his boy Marcellino. If he didn’t the battle would have been just one round. J5 vs Danny Defstar. And Danny would have been crowned champ.
So it’s J5 vs Marcellino. J5 is clearly down with the promoter. He was choosing his own beats by calling out the track numbers. A bit of a home field advantage if you ask me. Then they changed the beat for Marcellino and gave him a crazy up tempo beat to spit over. He still killed it and took round one. Round two was also won by Marcellino, yet the judges went to a round three. Why did J5 get to go to round three when Danny didn’t? Again, home field advantage. Marcellino wins and is crowned champ.
So now The main event was supposed to happen. Raise vs Marshall 2. But Raise wants to go thru Marcellino to get to Marshall. So now its Marcellino’s third battle. Raise goes first and he basically battles Marshall, who was standing in the front row. The crowd was like “doesnt he know who he is battling?” Raise must have some pent up frustrations towards Mr. Law. But the battle went four rounds. Raise’s best punchline was calling Marcellino a Beastie Boy, but during the forth round acapella Marcellino killed it and even the judges had to give it to him.
Now it was Raise vs Marshall. Raise used up all his punchlines on Marcellino and it was over pretty quick. It was obvious from the first round that Marshall had it in the bag. It was painful to watch Raise loose eight rounds in a row.
I reached out to Challz but he refused to comment on the event. So to re-cap. The turn out was horrible. Not having a DJ is always a bad idea. The original beats they were having the emcees battle over were wack. There was only 3 emcees in the battle. The big ambush they had planned for Marshall back fired. I saw Sneaky Pete up on stage trying to sway the judges opinion towards Raise. Looked real funny to me. Shame on you Sneaky for letting your beef with Marshall cloud your opinion.

Wow.
So now you want to add “conspirator” to the list of charges against Sneaky?
For the record, I agree that Marshall and his camp saved this event and…even I expressed my disapproval of the promotional tactics
used for this event– on this very site.
That being said,
I don’t believe Challz meant any disrespect to the other event
where as you are calling his “an abortion” ?!
He accepted this show due to a cancellation
and with VERY SHORT NOTICE –perhaps a mistake in judgement
but like you said “I def got my moneyz worth”
and Marcellino put on a clinic that will not be soon forgot
So, I think this review is the abortion
…talk about “killing the scene” damn.

May 13th, 2008 at 2:40 pm
yeah. my review is killing the scene. it was me. I did it. The scene was vibrant. but now it is dead. damn my evil words.
I “booked” my battle the same way “I accepted this show due to a cancellation and with VERY SHORT NOTICE –perhaps a mistake in judgement” but I made the best of it.

only one making things personal is you
I offered my opinion AS A FAN!!
about the featured music on this site
as I believed that was the intended purpose of the site to do
..duh
BUT because I’m also an artist
everyone assumed i came here to play BULLY
so yeah, I’ll play the roll (quite well too i might add)
it’s evident that Mortal likes to do same
cuz everyone there had a smile on their face
but He still felt the need to call the event an abortion?
May 13th, 2008 at 5:38 pm
coming from someone who loves to speak their feeble mind, wouldnt you understand him writing a negative review on a wack event?
May 13th, 2008 at 5:48 pm
a wack event?!
Everyone can agree that the event had it’s flaws
and I think it’s an unfair review
given the heart and talent that artists such
as myself, Dante, SBo, JProfane put up on stage
Not to mention–the Battles that did happen…
was CRAZY !!
and YES that even includes you, MARSHMallow
why am i arguing with you…

Ok I was a judge last night and I will answer a few points about it.
1 In the First battle it was Marcellino vs Danny Defstar. That was a bad move in my opinion, and you will see how the judges broke this rule later on for their friends.)
The Reason we didn’t see a reason for this to go on way That dude was getting his ass handed too him period. Come to think of It I told them this afterwards. This is weird I will Quote myself (It’s not that you were bad or anything It was the fact Marc hit you with too many punchlines).
2 So it’s J5 vs Marcellino.
Round two was also won by Marcellino, yet the judges went to a round three. Why did J5 get to go to round three when Danny didn’t? Again, home field advantage. Marcellino wins and is crowned champ.)
In this battle they both came with it and it was just too close to call on the second round therefore we Did the 3rd round as the rules stated.
3 (So now The main event was supposed to happen. Raise’s best punchline was calling Marcellino a Beastie Boy, but during the forth round acapella Marcellino killed it and even the judges had to give it to him.)
Simple answer for this one.I went to both of them after this battle and Told Raise why he didn’t win He had punchlines but It just took him too long to get to the kill point. They both understood that. Marcellino Came with his A game last nite, Raise should respect that.
Raise Vs Law
Do I really need too????
To sum it all up, Speaking for myself.I didn’t know any of the people in the battle personally so I had no opinion,Sneaky Pete Really had no input when it came to the outcome. Thanks for letting me copy and paste cause in just too lazy to type all that shit out. Yeager 1 Drop Studios

i wasnt disrespecting the artists by any means, just for the record..i just cait wait to see this on friday,so we can see all this shit talking in the flesh.
May 13th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
is this a crowd judged battle?
May 13th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
For those that dont know Im Challz…the promoter of “ALE’s Brawl for it All’. Let me just say before I get started that the show was off the hook. Im not even gonna allow the statements to the contrary. The place was electric and there was well over 25 people (considering I was expecting 2 people Im feeling good). I just had to get that out the way early. This was my first battle show ever. I think I did a hell of a job to get people hyped. So I disagree with the reviewer. The soundman told me it was the best hip hop event he ever seen there. Im not making that up and I didnt even ask him anything. He told me that 4 times. People were coming to me saying they couldnt believe how exciting it was. The drama and suspense was classic. I mean one would have to have an alterior motive to dis it. But I digress.
Let me just say this…I deserve this. I deserve whatever comes from what I do. I promote shows. I get on stage in front of other people and they are my judges. My events are judged by how many people are in the door. I run the risk of failure.
I run the risk of stepping on toes. I take this with pride. I do what I do. If I changed my style to fit in with ya’ll I would be you…not me. I’m me. I choose to do my event my way. I have to take the chance that some other promoter will not be so eager to share the hip hop stage, he probably wont make the same concessions for my event that he would for his own. I know this but still I persist.
Im still debating if I want to speak on everything that was said in the review…like the statement that Im down with J Five. Huh??? I couldn’t point dude out in a line up. I didnt even know his name until last night. I didnt even know he rapped. I only heard of him from this site responding to Marshall. He’s not ‘down’ with me, not saying he aint cool but he just not ‘down’ with me like that.
Raise is cool as shit to me but in actually I just met Raise a few months ago. I cant tell you where he lives. I cant tell you what he drives. I can tell you his first name and his phone number. Thats about it, so to say Im ‘down’ with Raise is like saying Im ‘down’ with Marshall Law…we just know each other from hip hop, thats about it. Believe it or not it is what it is. Im not gonna take alot of time trying to defend the fact that my relationship with Raise consists of a few phones calls and seeing him at my shows (same as Marshall Law). Take it or leave it….there was no conspiricy to crown him king. I didnt see him battle until the video tapes came out and I watched those half asleep in the middle of the night with ipod headphones as to not wake the kids. Needless to say it wasnt the best of circumstances.
Raise and I cooked up a battle BEFORE that Living Room battle so we didnt even have names besides Flawless and Frosty the Dope Man…thats it. He came to my Octane show a few months ago and asked me to help promote a battle. I said lets talk. We did. I was laughing when I made that flyer saying ‘Raise-RI Champion’. You should have seen me rolling on the floor because I knew how mad dudes would get. Got you mad too, huh? My bad.
Thats the extent of the Raise ‘conspiricy’ for now. Moving on.
Mortal feels dissed. I dont blame him. He felt dissed by me. I basically called his event a fraud. Now did I mean to do this? No. Never that. I didnt know he does basement flavor.com. I didnt know he did this site either until Pete told me about a week ago. I didnt know who does the myspace page for them. I even put the video for the Boot Camp Click show on my page and I didnt know who the promoter was. Thats blind support for hip hop. This is who I am. Unbiased. I didnt even know who threw the Living Room Battle. I was going to go but I had just got into town that night and I had a toss up of either go to DJ Therion’s event @ Blackstone to check it out because we had a show coming there next or go to the Living Room. I actually wanted to do both but I was just too tired. I didnt get to come down and meet Mortal. Let me just say this to Mortal. Sorry. Im sorry because I should have known a man that promotes would take offense to the way I came at this event. I made him upset. I get it.
Now with that being said I have to ask: Why? Why the hatchet job? I mean to read this ‘review’ it would seem the writer has a personal vendetta. Do you have a vendetta? I mean this review was way above and beyond a ‘dis’ dawg. You took it to another level, you should have smacked my Mom while your at it. You dissed me personally by saying the ‘promoter’ as if Im some blank entity with no face and no name, unworthy of your acknowledgement. Really? Thats how you feel? I got no name…no face, just the flea that your gonna knock off the map. Word?
You dissed my show, my promotion style, my fans, my friends…you dissed ME! You dissed me hard and I never even seen which guy in the crowd was the guy who was laughing so hysterically at me. I didnt see a guy laughing just people looking at the stage yelling ‘let them battle’, eager for the main event.
Let me just say I NEVER said the battle at the living room was ‘fixed’. Dont quote me on that because I never said that shit. I never said the judges were biased…I wasnt even there. Read what I wrote: “There was NO clear winner” guess what…there wasnt if Im a fan waiting for the finale and there is a sudden, abrupt stop and it says: The tape stopped but Marshall Law won…WTF!?!? So, I seized the moment. Im a promoter, I create hype. I told Marshall Law on the phone that it was just hype. He knew that…at least he called to address it. The first time I even knew who Moratl really was when I got a text on my phone, today I might add, to comment on a story I hadnt even read yet.
Think about that for a minute. I’m supposed to comment…on a story I havent read, that I dont know is going to be a complete axe in the back (by phone text no less). You could have at least introduced yourself to me at the battle, my bad, I mean ‘the abortion’. I still dont even know what you look like. At least let a man see your face before you fuck him. Its courtesy.
Im really surprised by this. Honestly I was hoping for a little quick witted jab here and a overhand swipe there, you know, something funny, but this? This shit says to me you want the world to laugh at Challz. You want to completely put your stamp on my head so that the ‘hip hop community’ will see me for the fraud I am and NEVER set foot in my shows again. If you got that kinda power with your pen then I guess my ass is outta here. Im finished in RI. Mortal just killed me. But if not and I can live…its a problem. Because I got big plans for the future, for my kids and their kids. We gotta eat fam…its that simple. So Im gonna hope that it aint that personal and we can be friends and even do business in the future. Have you seen my hustle…I make a better ally than enemy. Maybe I am that dude to swing at right now. Maybe Im a flea beneath your mighty hip hop cloak but I’ll play my position. I can promise you this, I aint going nowhere. I started promoting in RI last year…think about that…last year come July. I had 3 people come to my first show at Octane. Needless to say I was embarrased and wanted to quit but guess what…I didnt. Now I can throw a hip hop event with 150 people in the building any night without even trying based on the amount of artists in my phone one year later. Lets just see where ‘the promoter’ is at next year.
No DJ? I dont have a DJ because Im from DC and I havent built a relationship with a person I trust enough to say ‘your my DJ’. That shit is personal to me. So until then I will rock the CD’s. Thats my little version of ‘hip hop’, some people like it some people have their own ideas what makes a hip hop show.
Let me just state for the record dawg that this is why the city is divided. This is what the people are tired of. One promoter against another. The people want unity, this has got to be the most negitive shit I have seen in years and I cant believe this is how your gonna attempt to gain new fans. They want the city to come together. If you had a beef with what I wrote why didnt you just write me once. Just once. I would have took all that shit down and deaded the battle because Im not in this game to get beef and shitty reviews from websites that I respect. Im not in it for that. The tone of this review sounds like you already dont like me and I never even met you. How did that happen? Let me know cause Im lost. I had a underground website and I NEVER trashed nobody. Im trying to figure out whats the purpose. I have been getting hate from other promoters since I started but its funny because it hasnt stopped me yet. We will see.
Peace,
Challz

May 13th, 2008 at 9:49 pm
i can understand why challz is mad,but i think he’s taking it a little to personal.if i went to a battle, and i paid to see some crazy shit and 3 people battled,i’d want my money back, plain and simple.like i said no disrespect i met challz at the big show and he’s a cool dude.
did anyone tape marshall vs. raise 2???
May 13th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
there was a dewd making a dvd there that tapped it.. marshall made sure thAt the film ran till the end lol… and also my man tapped the last 3 rounds not the first..he was out getting a drink or something.. challz keep banging my dewd
May 13th, 2008 at 10:27 pm
first off I want to give my review of the event.
I showed up with Kcouto and Wigsplita hoping to see a real dope battle and man did I ever. now if it wasnt for backwardz productions this event would have been terrible, but because they came through not only were the emcee count brought up from 2 to 3, their was now real compitition for me to witness.
now I personally dont care about weither a dj in manning some tables at a hip hop event, I havent ever had a dj up until recently actually want to work with my crew so its whatever.
now I didnt actually know if this show was going to go down it was around 9:30 and the doorman was asking me if I was apart of the show or running it, I proceeded to say no and thought damn maybe noone is going to show up. round 10pm some of performers are trickling in and im thinking damn where is challz I know he is running this event.
so fast foward and the battle is just about to start (and I want to say big ups to J profane and Sbo and even neyshawn for doing their thing I enjoyed your sets) but this battle was ran terribly. first off why is their a need for a written round and a acapella round?!? I just didnt see the point.
also why werent the battlers using the same beats everytime, it seemed like some of the artists did have pull when they are telling the promoter to switch beats, its like, your going to rap over whatever we throw on and your going to do your best.
if it wasnt for marcellino showing up this would have been terrible and I wouldve walked out.
now I like challz (music and all) but the show was ran terribly even awful for a battle. I enjoyed myself but it was more for the whole wwf-esquseness of the event.
things that need to be said:
J5 needs to never battle again he made himself look terrible.
Raise shouldve stopped after marcellino killed him 4 rounds.
The judges are crazy for even thinking anyone besides marcellino won a round.
I shouldve been a judge, but I tend to play the background moreso then upfront.
I wish more people were battling but it just wasnt going down like that (what happened to 12 emcees?)
anything else I forgot I will add later but I had fun but man this was a terrible setup.

over all shit in my opinion was a sucess. the show was weak but im sure the promoter made his money, the people who came got thier moneys worth, and as far as the mc’s they live to battle another day. no DJ? well thats whatever… my favorite part of the night? building with the cats outside as220 after the show was over, and getting out of a parking ticket.. 1
May 13th, 2008 at 11:36 pm
hey josh why dont you guys make a forum style message board for this website??

May 14th, 2008 at 6:23 am
WE SHOWED UP JUST TO GET OUR RESPECT!!!!!NO CONVINCING WAS INVOLVED. WE LOVE HIP HOP. WE WOULD OF WENT REGUARDLESS….MY BOY MARCELLINO ENTERED THE BATTLE JUST TO PROVE A POINT…HE’S NOT EVEN A BATTLE RAPPER HE’S THE LYRICAL TYPE.I’M THE BATTLE RAPPER THAT’S WHAT I DO…AND I’M QUITE GOOD AT IT I MIGHT ADD.EITHER WAY YALL HAVE SOME GOOD POINTS. I GUESS WE WONT HAVE ANYTHING OUT IN THE OPEN TILL FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 14th, 2008 at 8:40 am
Last night I attended the “Brawl For It All” and I must say it was the most entertaining show I saw this past week, and that’s saying a lot. I saw 7L & Esoteric perform on Saturday and KRS-One (with Sage Francis and Crew) on Sunday. This event … This BRAWL FOR IT ALL” was by far the most entertaining event.
–The first words written by Mortal and the bottom line
May 14th, 2008 at 12:17 pm
Mortal is right about alot, challz is cool for giving him an apology, but where is the apology to Marshall? He basicaly made him look like a liar and then posted shit on my myspace as well as others.Thats what I had a problem with. And then at the battle he still ignored us when we try tellin him he dont know what he was talking about and proceeded to tell the crowd one big lie about the livingroom battle. All this to sell a show, its wack as fuck to use a mans pride to sell a show, u try to down grade him to get him to show up to a battle that allready happened in a more organized fashion. I told marshall not to waste his time but then we all agreed that there was nothing better to do on a monday so why not smash the place and leave the winners 2 times over, plus all this shit had to be made clear to the public who only know what they hear comin outa the promoters mouths. So challz plan worked, he got the only person who could make the night a succes to show up, but he did it like a fucken snake. In the end my squad still killed it and left with no sweat off our backs, and look who is stuck between contraversy now.Big up to Mortal, Big up to challz for an atempt on a battle, keep doing them and try to organize a lil better next time, and use beats everyone knows, cuz those beats were pretty bad for a battle. Now thats enough outa me, I usually dont go typing on the internet, but i felt like i should put this out there seeing how every one else is leaving honest feedback.
May 14th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
yeah the whole promotional shit on this show was wacked out,im just happy marshall and his team prevaled,it goes to show you what you can do when you want it .
May 14th, 2008 at 12:55 pm
i just hope the next time there is a battle more mc’s want to get involved… i personally enjoyed watching from the outside looking in..
May 14th, 2008 at 1:40 pm
This Is Marcellino i Just Wanna Say Big Ups For Letting Me Battle.I Wanna Give Every One Who Battled And Preformed Props.Except For J5 Cause I think My Daughter Could Have Ripped Him……I Cant Wait till friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Big ups To 401 HipHop

you know wha, you cant have a show with out a dj point blank. you might as well stand on a soap box with a boombox if you are going to throw a show without a dj. the promotion was weak, but it seems that is alot more common these days with hip hop shows. it wouldn’t be that hard for challz to reach out and say hey could you dj this event for me to any dj, especially when he had already said turntables would be there. i had my vynl and needles in my car, because we were supposed to perform, but challz brought his invisible tables. i don’t talk shit, i don’t start shit, i call it like it is. and wow there was a big void in that show. personally a bunch of kids on stage tryin to tough talk each other is futile to me, and the reason hip hop is in the rut it is in. plus ultimate warrior floor stomps don’t help…

First off… let me show MY respect to the whole 30 people that came out that night. Here’s how it went down from my POV so no-one gets it confused…
I missed the first battle between Raise/Marshall Law I only got to see the videos. Raise told me it was a close battle and he wanted the rounds again..I came on 401hiphop.com and tried to stir the pot and get them two at it again. It worked. I showed up that night with no intentions of battling. Raise told me no1 showed up and they needed another MC in the battle so I did it for the sake of if I didn’t there would’ve been one round (Defstar vs Marcelino). Battling is cool and for show and all but it just ain’t my thing, I’d rather build and make music and perfom I ain’t in this game for enemies, nor am I in it for friends. Anyone on this page or viewing this page who says they respect hip hop as much as they say they do, should have no problem with respecting why I do this music shit. I came to check out the re-match between Marshall and Raise. I was very impressed with marcelino however and believe me aint nobody from my squad hatin on any of y’all. You came out here and did ya thing & Im glad it went down like that. We weren’t down with the promoter, we weren’t down with pete trying to persuade the judges.. and nobody was ever trying to make anything a set-up, and those are just the straight facts

Whats good fellas. Im just writting to make a couple statements then Im out. Literally. My first statement is that since I came on this site there has NEVER been as many comments about ANYTHING or ANYONE like the events of the past few weeks. Great. I’ll be the fucking bad guy. Thats my word…I can put it on my back. A dude called me a snake…a snake dawg? Thats what you feel? You called me a snake over a fucking battle? I aint nothing like a snake fam.
I been in the hip hop game for a real good minute and I have seen it all and done it all. I dont need no validation from nobody about nothing. I can use a DJ if I feel or I can use a fucking walkman with a headphone. I can do what the fuck I want to do.
Basically Im gonna say this. This battle shit has way too many negative vibes. Ya’ll taking this shit way too serious so its yours. Battle til your fucking heads fall off. Im not doing NO MORE battles. Im going back to doing my shows and getting RI artists the exposure they deserve. I’ll put the state on my back since all you muthafuckers is good for is complaining. So do me one last favor. Go back to ignoring everything I do. PLEASE!!!! It was better when this site only wrote about Mortal events. Leave me off of it. If my shows are wack DONT COME! Dont request a slot…dont hit me asking to be down. Dont post no reviews about nothing ALE do…I mean that shit. You wasnt doing before dont do it now.
Simple as that. Ima do me. Dont expect no more comments from me because I wont be reading nothing on here. Hit me on myspace if you want a response.
Peace to the people who fuck with me. Im out.

oh and peace to challz for atleast making an effort, thats more than i can say for some of these cats… all i can say is that instead of having a show every other week, try spacing them out and working on your organization.

May 14th, 2008 at 3:28 pm
no doubt, my intention was never to start shit, obviously you got skill, and your camp has energy, i got respect for that, the best will prevail. ALL IM SAYIN is there isn’t a need to get so excentric, and cause a scene, (in my opinion), but you do you, and you do it well, much respect. i just feel that there are too many kids today that treat hip hop like the WWF(thats rightF), acting hard, like they hustle, pop guns, fuck bitches, etc, and THAT is why hip hop is in the rut it is in, because most battles(not to mention alblums) have turned into who can talk tougher, not about lyrical skill, NOT because of you and your camp. marcellino was dope point blank, you got skill too, and thats what this is about being the best, but we also have to remember where it came from, there are rules to this thing called hip hop. the du rag comment may have been harsh, but i had long hair too and i aint never put on a du rag…. M.L. don’ t take constructive critisism as mis directed beef, i am too old for internet beef, or beef in general. when you project yourself a certain way, people percieve it that way.
May 14th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
people are sensative. I guess people just can’t take some freindly critism. I have taken advise from tons of people I respect and don’t respect. the truth is the truth. It shouldn’t hurt your feelings.
I agree with Janks that Marshall could chill out a bit. I told him in person, to his face that he needs to relax a bit. He is getting buzz from the battles and this site … but don’t get all vexed when dudes are trying to give you decent advice.
Also obviously Challz is all vexed as well. Mad that I expressed my opinions. More mad that what i said is so on point. The difference between me and challz is what he says to stir up controversy is a lie (No Clear Winner … anyone who was at the battle saw there was a clear winner) what I say to stir up controversy is true. Three emcees where in the battle and there was no DJ. Don’t be mad at me cuz I held up a mirror to ur event. Some times the shows go well, sometimes no one shows up. thats the nature of the promotions game.
May 14th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
Oh … Challz … this is the second of your events that this site has reviewed.
May 14th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
I would just like to say that this is the 53 comment.
May 14th, 2008 at 4:29 pm

May 14th, 2008 at 4:59 pm

“blah blah blah BACKWARDS PRODUCTIONS? yea you are certainly moving backwards alright. peace”
Listen…. Marshall does get ahead of himself, but this is his passion and thats what makes him good. As far as Backwards Productions, watch what you say, this label is way deeper than marshall and Marcellino, again its a label, so that means that they are just one group on the label.
May 15th, 2008 at 2:38 am
Wooooooooow. All this chatter w/o Sneaky…I feel like a proud father.
and what is this? Others telling Marshall he’s not quite ready to have a big head… FASCINATING.
May 15th, 2008 at 2:52 am
aight, for the record… i never tried to dis credit marshall, marcellino or ne one from wha ever production camp whatever. MY POINT WAS, BE HUMBLE MARSHALL, LET CATS MAKE THIER OWN BUZZ ABOUT YOU, PLAY OFF OF THAT AND SMASH THEM IN THE FACE. YES YOU DO WHAT YOU DO WELL, KEEP DOING IT, BUT TONE IT DOWN A NOTCH, DONT LET YOUR INSECURITIES GET THE BEST OF YOU DOG.
May 15th, 2008 at 3:23 am
Fair enough..can we just keep it at that now? I think all this bickering is getting played. We originally just wanted to build with all the ri cats cuz the hip hop scene is way better in ri than where we are at, we arnt all for battleing, it just so happens that we saw the flyer for a battle at the living room and went, it was dope, we chilled outside for a while and everyone was cool at the end of the show. Then we kinda got sucked into all this. NOT OUR ORIGINAL PLAN. So with that said, respect to everyone on here and if anyone wants to make music with us, cool hit me up, I really just want to make conects and build outside of my city. peace to all of you and lets all stay civil? that means you too Marshall
May 15th, 2008 at 10:46 am
