Since Marshall Law jumped on the scene on Sunday March 30th, He has destroyed all Competition. He has beaten RI superstars 8th Wundah, Knux, and Najas, as well as the up and coming star, Raise at the Battle Royal at The Living Room. Then he stomped (literally) into The Audio Liquor’s Brawl and defeated Raise for the second time. Just recently he smashed Sneaky Pete at the BF 10 Year Anniversary Show. So the question needs to be asked … WHO’s NEXT?
Marshall is ready to defend the title. Friday May 30th @ The AS220. Is there anyone out there that can de-throne the current champ? Anyone want to accept the challenge? Who would you want to see Marshall battle? Let make it happen!

Mortal: the voice of reason. Definite Backhanded compliment saying EVEN Marshall…; and yea it really wouldn’t be worth it for Marsh to battle these kids. But we all know if the comp WAS worth it, it would be something to look forward to. But since the comp isn’t even on a level, then it’s all pretty much a dead issue. I DO have faith that Mortal WOULD make it pop off if he felt there was a reason to tho. I think that will be all from me (Hopefully!!!) Mortal, I DO appreciate the time and space for what its worth

Sneaky … are you really listening to yourself? or are you just writing cuz u have nothing better to do? what makes you think that Marshall would ever take your advise? It’s funny how your trying to say you give him compliments, when your really throwing darts. You say ur giving advise, yet all you do is try and diss people. You need to work on ur people skills. No one is gonna take advise from you. You piss everyone off. Which is cool. I’m sure its all apart of your personal master plan. but what works for you … wont work for someone else.
Also to give someone advise, you would have to be in a better situation then them. As far as I can see, we are all on the same grind. So you offering advise is another diss. Cuz you are acting as thought you are above someone else. you fully believe that ur opionion has more value and merit then the next man. Its as tho you think you are superior to the next man. for example I can give my son advise, I have more life experience than him. He can not give me advise unless it has to do with Pokemon cards.

Mortal,
I gave u a new topic and you passed on it.
–a 401 artist being introduced to the music industry/world
by LUDACRIS as “one to watch” ?!!
it’s unprecidented.
but no ur right, me and marshall both “on the same level”

Mortal says:
Ludacris is washed up. You gave me a youtube video that gives you shine. Thats not a new topic. thats agenda.
Jinsu opened up at Rocksteady Anniversary. Proliphic was / is on the Paid Dues tour. RI artists get shine. its nothing new.

sneakypete says:
Luda is washed…that’s a bold statement
re: Pro and Jin: That’s great!!
so why is there no announcement here or BF?
June 15, 2008 at 1:04 pm
Mortal says:
Prolyphic Post! Jinsu was years ago. The point being A big show opening for Big names is cool, yet it the long run it doesnt mean anything. PDP, Chachi, Labeless have all opened up for every big name under the sun, and the are on the same grind (more or less).
Yes Ludacris is washed up. who here has ever bought a CD by Ludacris? Anyone? i would sooner see a movie with him in it then buy any music by him.

Jots says:
my time for buying ludacris cds passed when i graduated middle school, but i have to say i don’t think he’s a bad emcee at all, considering what he is. he’s the only rapper who can make me not completely hate a club track. no, i wouldn’t go pay to see him at a show or buy an album, but i wouldn’t say he’s washed up, per say. he did a show at my college a few years before i started there that has pretty much ascended to the level of urban legend.

Jots says:
but i have to say, until luda gets you signed to a label and takes you on tour, it’s just all bullshit – a false sense of accomplishment. ‘crabs in a barrel’, as someone once said

Mortal says:
[sarcasm]Yeah that Austin Powers joint that Luda did with the midget in the video was the jumpoff [/sarcasm]

sneakypete says:
there’s nothing “false” about performing in front of 800 people
that dance and cheer the entire time, put their hands up, and give you pounds and media interviews after.
yall are really clueless.
I’m so done here.

Mortal says:
opening up for a big name, and or rocking in front of a large crowd does not equal success. Its a grind no matter if your Sage Francis, or C-Rayz Walz, Slug from Atmosphere or a local emcee who hasnt dropped their CD yet. Chachi has been on 106 & Park. Jon Hope is featured on the new REKS release.

Its a good thing not every emcee in RI come here to brag when the do a show out of state or open up for a big name
June 15, 2008 at 2:50 pm
Jots says:
aww, sneak’s mad because he came here expecting to get lauded and praised for doing a show with a big name cat and got nothing of the sort. he really does care what we think! how cute!

The Craft says:
It is CLEARLY Sneaky who’s clueless. Sneaky I wish I had a medal to give you for actually getting “lauded”. How about every New Years Eve show SOTA performs at the Roxy Bostin to get the crowd hyped to ring in the New Year. Maybe I should brag about that for months on a hiphop website. All the ladies that offer to buy me drinks when I step off stage. All the VIPs that come up to me asking a hundred questions. Maybe because of THAT people will respect me???
FAT CHANCE. Because EVERYONE on here has accomplished something worthy of praise or has met SOMEONE famous. It’s when you go around PROCLAIMING how great you are that loses you respect.
Noone wants to hear that shit. It’s like someone who has low self-esteem issues and constantly has to be reinforced to feel adequate. I’ve already mentioned how many people I’ve opened up for…but it was only to prove a point of how silly it is. Not because i thought that made me deserving of some credit that will come anyway once people hear my music. Besides, Luda’s probably already forgotten who you are; because I’m sure Outkast has forgotten about me by now.
Get over the fact that ONCE you got “Lauded” at a show. That happens EVERY time I hit a dance floor, or when cats get a chance to hear me flow. Not to be cocky but I’m kinda used to it by now; I don’t need to keep convincing myself.
