We at 401hiphop.com  get blessed with dope tracks from local artist that often times end up in our Feature Audio section. This time around we have something for your viewing pleasure as well. Before I get into particulars, I would like to go on the record saying that I (as should you) tip my hat to these young(er) cats for putting forth the time and effort to deliver quality product. So whether you are a fan of this video or their music, you gotta give props where props is due.

The creators behind this high energy joint are M.I.C.(M.usic I.s C.ulture) ft. Logik. The duo[M.I.C] comprised of emcees Voz and Frank Fitted, team up to blow the competition away so to speak.The video was shot in the Onleyville section of Prov, and was directed by talented up-and-comer TRAV. While watching the video it is plain to see these cats are having a good time and don’t take themselves too serious.When asked about the vibe of the video they said “We wanted to give the video a fun feeling, we want the viewers to laugh and also experience our element and type of style we have”, which for the most part I would say they were successful in doing just that.

“Bombs Away” is a buzz record for their upcoming EP “Hurry Up and Buy”. M.I.C says we can expect a similarly rambunctious and up-beat feel from the EP,”which is fun and also true Hip Hop at it’s core”. We also can expect possible collabs with Joey ZuZu. ZE and of course Logik.  As well as production from themselves the Ep will feature joints from Ghana and The A-Team (AWOL, LO-Style.and Big Will C). Keep on the look out for that, in the mean time check out “Chilling on the Block” and “Mz Ladi Da”.

Boombox makes you wanna do the doo-wopp! This sweet colaboration from Providences’ self proclaimed against the grain, Boombox Saintz with  Jahpan mos def makes me wanna bounce-bounce!  Jahpans’ testiment to travel far and wide to take Federal Hill to the top is definetly represented with this 401 colab. Not only does this song have a high energy, positive feelling fresh flow, but this video is pretty dope as well. This video has a thermagraphic feel to it that is pretty darned fresh if you ask me!! Its nice to see a video with a different direction, rather than all that complacency that is kicken’ around these days. Way to switch it up guys. We look forward to the next.

Here is the video of the emcee battle between Marshall Law and Flawless at the November 13th Elevation. Pardon the footage, we are still trying to find the best angle to document the event. This battle was dope regardless. Both emcees really brought their A game! The crowd decided that Marshall Law won the battle. What do you think? Who won?

Vendetta graced us with his ability to pick up the mic and destroy at Elevation this past Friday. Between his onstage performance and this quick flow on the side, we notice a level of lyrical integrety surprising and entertaining to the ear. Tune into the podcast to experience the impressive onstage sound and lyrics. Vendetta tore it up that night.

Big City Bumpus is an impressive performer. This talented emcee smashed it on and offstage. He was able to capture the audience immediately. I’ve listened to other tracks from this gifted performer and noted a consistency in his impeccable style and lyrics. This is another emcee that I look forward to listening to in our future Elevation events.

Elevation got kicked off in the best way possible. After Sterby Rock got the crowd open, our host Rock Solid laced the everyone with some lyrics to let heads know he more than just a pretty face, he is also a talented emcee. The first non staff emcee to grace the stage was fan favorite Romen Rok of Pro Town Records. It’s no secret I’m a big fan of Romen, so to have him set off Elevation for us was an absolute pleasure.

The video was shot by Berto and edited by Mortal. This is our first video of many coming from the October Elevation. Its a bit ruff around the edges, but Romen amazing skills shines through regardless. We have a bunch off media treats coming from Elevation, so stay tuned. This is just the beginning.
