The Mic Monster aka Marshall Law has confirmed that he WILL be attending Elevation this Friday to defend his current 401 Hip Hop Battle Champion title. He let me know he is willing to battle anyone. I’m pretty sure anyone that has seen Marshall battle knows that he is a beast. So if you think you got the skills to take the crown, show up this Friday at the FireHouse XIII (or leave a comment) and let’s make it happen.

He is not local but the label is and damn it this album deserves to break your mind open wide, Sleep delivers what most rappers/emcees/assholes wish they could create on record. here is some info (Via SFR.com)
Hesitation Wounds is a vivid and intense journey through the psyche of one of underground hip hop’s longest tenured and most promising emcees. The follow-up to Sleep’s acclaimed 2005 LP Christopher, the album features guest appearances by Del tha Funky Homosapien, Grayskul, and boasts the production credits of Reanimator, Zebulon Dak and Smoke. Constructed from a mix of samples, live instrumentation, and a myriad of styles that all assist in the storytelling of a lifelong hip-hop veteran who has much more to offer the game than brag raps. This is real life in all its complexities, compressed into 13 solid tracks, and delivered in a way that only Sleep could do.

Digsafe Records was created by Providence hip-hop producer Falside to act as an outlet for solo projects, collaborative efforts and future releases. Digsafe intends to expand over time, benefit those involved and develop a true school independent approach to local artistry. Open to idea’s, advice, criticisms, and change, Digsafe’s largest asset is time. The direction of Digsafe will be determined by it’s response and those who have the willingness to become involved. You are strongly encouraged to check back often for updates and announcements, as the starting stages of this process begin and the machine is oiled.
