Sneaky Pete vs Marshall Law

[audio:http://audio.basementflavor.com/sneaky_pete_vs_marhall_law/401hiphop/emcee_battle.mp3]

For everyone who has been waiting to re-live the battle between Sneaky Pete and Marshall Law, I got some good news and some bad news. Here is the battle for you to enjoy. But the bad news is thats its only the audio. The lighting in The Living Room is not the best. So the footage is blurry at best. The audio is clean so I figured fuck it. The only thing you miss is the Carrot Top prop work of Sneaky Pete as he puts on a pair of white sun glasses when he says “I’ll Be Kanye West”. So Listen. Enjoy and sound off on who you thought was the winner. What was your favorite punch lines?

  4. I’ve watched emcees come and go
    for about 14 years now
some last 6 years or 6 months…some last 6 bars
and all of em claimed to be “the real deal”

    Well I aint rich
and I still aint received all the respect or “props”
    I think I deserve either…
    but I’m still here.

I hope you do come to my next show Marshall
…it’s the only way you’re gonna get better

  5. you know, Marshall
if you REALLY think you’re ready
why don’t you contact SMACK DVD
show them your battle footage and see if they’d be interested?

better yet, why don’t you and ur boys get up 2G
and I’m sure I could arrange you a “proper battle”
in NYC … against Iron Solomon or perhaps Math?

    The Craft says:

Marshall said it all. Dudes can talk all they want and NOT suffer the consequences. How can cats start shit, get beat, KEEP talkin shit, and then flip it like other people are the jerks. I’mma teach my son better than that. So Mortal, ther’s more shit than physical threats that’re tired. But yoPete, good luck on your new blog…for real. Hope it meets all your hopes and dreams.

  7. wow……have I missed alot…lmao
    …..
    ………..
i dont even know what to say. Marshall and Marcellino are the battle rappers of the lable, the craft , S.K, and the rest of TCF are the more lyrical group on the team… Peat you havnt heard them yet so wait before you start trying to act like all we do is battle. I really have better shit to do than blah bla bla on the internet, but I hate to see everyone on my lable deffending it but me ( THE BOSS ). Listen pete, I offered you some beats and collabs, so for you to come on here and start stirring things up again is like mmmm…i duno… half retarded..listen, how are you contributing to hip hop or making music if all you do is spend your time on here? and if you aint on here your on myspace or any other means of internet connection. I really dont care who you are pete and what youv done in brooklyn, why aint u there any more? what happened in BK? I’v painted walls out there with oldschool cats man, I’v done shows breakin doin half time shows with the craft mind you when i was like 14 going to clubs in new york, i’v made beats for people who got music videos on Demand for the world to see… point is, who the fuck cares , you wouldnt know that , unless i told you, just like no one here would know shit about you unless you told them.

  8. Well, even Mortal has finally requested of me to
dead the back and forth with Marshall
    so I will oblige

but I really don’t think I’ve taken any cheap shots at your label, Tony
Marcellino actually gave me an interesting critique at the battle
saying “You should’ve left fall river out of it and battled the man in front of you” and it actually made sense to me.
Even though Marshall has continued to even make attacks
at the beautiful woman i was with that nite.
    but i digress.

The person you met at the C-Rayz show is “the real” Pete
    I wasn’t acting “bitch-made”
I genuinely liked the vibe I got from you and Marce

I’m certainly not going to justify how i spend my time to you
but I am all about collaborating and creating

so… yeah, I know Marshall is your boy and all
so your probly offended by my words
but like i said SOOO MANY TIMES b4
    it’s really not personal

I’d love to hear more of your production
and see if we can find some “common ground”

    get at me

    oNe

  9. I find it funny that i am about to defend Sneaky, seeing as tho I’m not 100% sure if I even like the dude … but to respond to what has Sneaky done for hip Hip … He has put on a few shows in the past year … one of which i totally tore apart in a review. But putting on shows and helping to put on shows (like he has done with Challz) is a huge part of helping out the Hip Hop scene. Giving other artists opportunity to shine is a great thing. I personally know how hard it is to put on shows. Its a thankless job, yet its vital to have growth in our community.

Also I remember back in the day at one of My events … Sneaky gave me his single on Vinyl (that just sounds better than “Sneaky gave me his 12 inch …. pause). And this was at a time when putting out vinyl was very uncommon for a local artist. It had artwork and everything it wasn’t just a white label.

Sneaky has actual manufactured material with artwork and barcodes. That is very important. How many emcees in the current scene have that? Labeless. PDP. Delusional. It’s what sets apart the hard working artists from the myspace emcees. The next step is distribution … which only Sage and Time Machine have as far as I know. But anyway. Your not feeling Sneaky. Thats cool. Not many people do to be honest. But he does hustle.

  10. Fuck you Mortal, I’m gonna kill you.

    lol

  11. I’m gonna address this “Why did you leave New York?” question

First of All, I moved there from California
    with my crew:
    The 00Agents
    http://www.00agents.com

it was 2001. We had finished recording our 2nd album
    BoomBaptizm
and were looking to either “get signed”
or get distribution under our own ConfidentChill Records

    Our stage show was bananas!!

    http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=18379977

and we felt it belonged on the EAST COAST
so New York was the obvious choice.

The fact that NO ONE had ever seen anything like it
    worked really well for us
as far as getting fans to the shows and attracting A&R
but also turned out to be our Achilles’ heel.

  12. We had a core following of 200-250 fans
but Fat Beats nor Caroline opted to pick up distro
so we were stuck as an indie label

Major Labels loved the show and concept
but didn’t hear a “Radio Smash”

We went back to the drawing board
to try to create what they wanted but
we all had different ideas of how to do it
and ultimately Chris went his own way as
    O-Fresh
    http://www.o-fresh.com

and my bro Johnny Mac got back into acting
    http://audience.withoutabox.com/festivals/event_item.php?id=10524

and I fukd around in this band called Violent Sex for a while
and then decided to create my own solo album
which lead me back here to RI
cuz the rent more than 50% cheaper

    any questions?

  13. word..and i never doubted any of that. thats why i didnt knock anything he does except the blogging bout every guy that in his eyes is below him. The funny thing is, nobody knocked sneaky’s hustle, so why should he knock anyone elses. My offer to work with him is on the table and was on the table ever since the c-rayz show. did he try to follow up on it and build with people, not us why i duno, but it is what it is. whatever.. before my phone was dissconnected i tried calling mortal to even try to get some stuff poppin and i dont get an answer or a call back, no harm, people are busy. but sneaky aint the only one hustling. art work is finished and cd are in the process of being packaged (with a barcode)besides everone knows that a barcode is only a matter of about 39 bucks with an order of about 1000 cds. i am on the same page with you, always have been. But yet i dont feel the need to tell people they are wrong or what hip hop needs nowa days, i think the problem is, everyone thinking they know whats best for the culture instead of just doing their thing and collabing with the people that are trying to reach out and build with people to keep it going. so with that all said, i’m going to try this again, some of my team might not like this but, my offer is still on the table, for pete and anyone else who wants to build…get at me on myspace or e-mail tony_backwards@yahoo.com …PEACE!
