Let’s get right down to it. This post should be a witty paragraph where I dazzle you with with my knowledge of Swann Notty. However I feel that just doing that with out first explaining what’s going on would be a sucker move.
401HipHop.com is supposed to be a community website to promote Rhode Island hip hop artists and music. It is supposed to be a vertical slice of the scene as a whole. The site has obviously fallen short of that goal. The site has crawled along with out any real direction and I am to blame. I am sorry for that. But that stops today. I’m not gonna waste my keystrokes making you any false promises and I’m not gonna lay out my entire plan here. To be honest, this is not the post for that and the plan is still heavily under development. But the energy is growing, the team is truly coming together, and the pieces are all falling into place.
So to get things going I’m introducing a new regular feature, “Track of the Day”, where I will put up a new (or classic) track from a local emcee. Hopefully after we build a strong catalog of music, people will look at 401HipHop.com as another source to fill up their iPod. And What better way to kick off our new feature “Track of the Day” then with some CLASSIC MATERIAL!
What can I say about Swann Notty that you don’t already know. Of all the emcees that have ever claimed this state as their home, Swann has been and still is in my top three favorite emcees. (Sorry no dazzle … maybe next post)
