Hello. My name is Josh or HW (whichever it really doesn’t matter). Here is the deal: You want your CD reviewed and I want free music. So I will cut you a deal. If you send me your cd, then I will in time listen to your CD and review it on this site. I consider myself fair and unbiased, so shoot me an email [at] review@401hiphop.com. I will reply with my mailing address for you to send me your music.
This opportUNITY is for artists in the Rhode Island hip hop scene and surrounding (participating) areas (Southern MA and CT - whats up?). So lets get cracking. I want to get some good music up on the site!

Two Shows In Two Nights. Monkey Business at the AS220. Special Teamz at The Living Room. Mortal comes out of hiding.

Rhode Island hip hop was in full effect this past weekend. I attended two shows. While attending hip hop shows seems like a natural activity for a self proclaimed hip hop fan, the fact that I have not been “out” in over six months makes this a monumental occasion … at least for me.
This write up won’t be so much a full blown review of each event. It will be more of a bunch of mini reviews peppered with scathing criticism, bordering on slander, of the Rhode Island Hip Hop scene as a whole. So sit back. Relax. Grab a tall, ice cold glass of grape Hater-Aid and enjoy.
This remix album comes from Rhode Island’s own j.DePina, Vertygo & Matty Mischief. It’s a free download. Peep the video.
If you are looking for production or studio time, hit these guys up. Beat Box Studio is booking time at $25 an hour, located in Downtown Pawtucket.
